Gladys Marie Clark Young Was born August 20, 1920 in Wardell, MO to C.C. Clark and Bertie Terrett Clark. She died March 27, 2015 in Bonita Springs, Florida at the age of 94. She was united in marriage to James Colice Young on December 20, 1941 in Caruthersville, MO. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1986. Also preceding Gladys Marie Clark Young in death were: her parents, Bertie Terrett Clark & Chapter C. Clark, one son Bobby Wayne Young in 1996, her sister Carmel Ludwig in 1995, and one grandson, James Chad Young, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.She was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Eastern Star . Was a graduate of the Beauty Art School in St. Louis, MO. She was a licensed C.N.A. and E.M.T., and was the owner/operator of the Fashion 220 Cosmetics store in Springfield, IL before moving to Fort Myers, FL. Gladys Marie Clark Young leaves to cherish memories: her son and daughter-in-law Jerry (Brett) Clark Young of Rochester, IL; her daughters Lynette Lois Young of St. Louis MO and Betty Lucille Grossman of Memphis, TN; her brothers: Raymond Clark of Leland, MS; Herman Clark of Sikeston, MO and C.C. "Commodore" Clark of Portageville, MO; one sister Vera Lee Thatcher of Metamora, IL; six grandchildren: Karen Amanda Grossman, Kattie Young Powell, James Edward Young, Steven Baptist, Michael Justin Petetit four great-grandchildren: Sydney Robbins, Kamryn Robbins, Kaleb Baptist and Elizabeth Baptist and a host of many other relatives and friends.
