Mrs. Geraldine Schaffer, 84, passed away on May 24, 2016, at her home in Pheba. Mrs. Geraldine was born October 12, 1931, in Conran, Missouri, the daughter of the late Charley Delmus and Elsie Odie Hampton. She was a homemaker and member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of both First Baptist Church in Lilbourn, MO, and Pheba Baptist Church in Pheba, MS. She came to Clay County, MS, in 1971. She married Roy Beechel Schaffer on January 2, 1951, in Pigott, Arkansas, and he passed away November 21, 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 Great Grandchildren: Emma Grace Hayes and Liam Michael White; by 2 Sisters: Reva Howell and Marie Hampton, by 1 Brother: Otis Hampton; and by a Special Niece: Louise Stevens.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 27, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. from Pheba Baptist Church in Pheba, MS, with Reverend Terry Rhodes officiating. Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. from First Baptist Church in Lilbourn, MO, with burial to follow in Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn, Missouri. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of local arrangements in Mississippi..
Survivors include Three Daughters, Maurica Turner (Bill) of Malden, MO, Joy Walker (Frank) of Pheba, MS, Angela Fitzgerald (Riley) of Charleston, MO; Two Sons, Kenny Schaffer (Susan) of New Madrid, MO and Roy Schaffer (Anita) of Milton, FL; Special Daughter: Jeanie Smith (Lee) of Montpelier, VA; Eight Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Turner, Scott Schaffer, Justin Harpole, Jarrod Harpole, Ryan Schaffer, Christopher White, Emily Hayes, Nici Huffman, Payten Turner, Sophia Turner, Noah Schaffer, Leslie Huffman, Sawyer Harpole, and Grant White.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Her Lifelong Friends: Elizabeth Nesselrodt, Bernice Mainord, Sarah Ann Alford, Norma Thompson, Dee Washington, Mary Jo Washington, Leonard and Edwina Owens, Her Neighbors: Steve Walker, Sam Stone, and Her Caregiver: Ann Alford.
