Georgia Ida McCormick was born December 15, 1921 in Oxford, Arkansas to Ransom Rogers and Bertha Smith Rogers. She died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to William Delta McCormick on April 24, 1941 in Caruthersville, MO. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2008. Preceding Georgia Ida McCormick in death, were her parents, Ransom and Bertha (Smith) Rogers, one daughter Kathy Sue McCormick, two sons Jesse Lee and Jimmy McCormick, her brother Carl Rogers, sister Ruby Carnell and one granddaughter Teresa Moore. Georgia Ida McCormick leaves to cherish her memories two sons, James William McCormick of Risco, MO; Timothy McCormick of Hayti, MO; three daughters: Shirley Hamm of Caruthersville, MO; Carolyn M. Taylor and Dorothy M. McCormick both of Hayti, MO; one step-daughter, Betty Sue McCormick of Sikeston, MO; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.
