Geneva DeRousse

W as born December 23, 1931, in Oxford, Mississippi to Evie Smith Champion and Norman Champion.  She passed away on May 31, 2021, at her home in Hayward, MO at the age of 89 years 5 months and 8 days.

S he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville, MO, she was united in marriage to Robert DeRousse on May 2, 1948, in Hayward, MO,  he preceded her in death on July 25, 2002.  Also preceding her in death was her parents, Evie Smith Champion, and Norman Champion, also preceding her brothers, George and William Champion, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Barry (Della) DeRousse of Great Bend, Kansas, Terry (Trish) DeRousse of Dyersburg, TN, her three daughters; Carol (Harold Jr) Miller of Hayward, MO, Patsy (Ronnie) Hinklin of Hayward, MO, Lisa (John) Kelley of Hayward, MO, sister-in-law Imogene DeRousse of Portageville, MO, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends
