Gary Browne of Marston, Missouri, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He married the love of his life, Sandra DuCharme, on July 19, 1968, in Detroit, Michigan, and their bond remained the center of his world. A proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army, Gary carried his quiet strength and sense of duty into every chapter of his life.

A self-employed mechanic by trade, Gary had a knack for fixing what was broken and making people feel at ease. He never met a stranger and could always be counted on for a good story. Afternoons with CNN, a raucous wrestling match on TV, and a bowl of chocolate chip ice cream were simple pleasures that brightened his days. Those who knew him remember someone who could make an ordinary moment feel like a family memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Green and Clarence Brown; his son, Michael Wayne Brown (September 29, 2018); brothers Darrell and Mike Brown; sister Laura Mayberry; and brother-in-law Mike 'Mudd' Pyles.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife Sandra Browne of Marston, MO; his daughter Linda (Andy) Jones of New Madrid, MO; brothers Don (Janis) Brown of New Madrid and Larry Brown of Arnold; sisters Brenda (Don) King of Sikeston and Debbie Pyles of Matthews; grandchildren Rick (Faith) Harrison, Ashleigh (Tommy) Miller, Ryan (Brittney) Harrison, and Adan (Kassi) Jones and ten great-grandchildren.

Gary was of Pentecost faith and took the greatest joy from being with family—his grandchildren were his grandest joy. In the stories he told and the laughter he shared, his spirit will live on.
