Floyd Lafayette Tanner, Jr. was born August 6, 1935 in Portageville, MO to Floyd L. Tanner, Sr. and Ada Mildred (Ross) Tanner. He died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Chandler Regional Hospital in Chandler, AZ at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Wah L. "Wendy" Tanner. She survives of the home in Chandler, AZ. Preceding him in death, were his parents, Floyd L. and Ada Mildred (Ross) Tanner, Sr. and a nephew that he helped to raise, Walter Roberts. He served seven years in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant before retiring in 1970. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and earned his Master's Degree in Tucson, AZ. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Wendy L. Tanner of Chandler, AZ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Charles Bowers of New Madrid, MO and Barbara and Ed Moss of Tolleson, AZ; nephews, Edward E. Moss of Arizona, Kenneth Moss of California, several nieces and nephews that he helped to raise: James W. Roberts of Portageville, MO; John Roberts of Ohio, Crystal Kardos of Arizona and Wesley Roberts of St. Louis, MO and a host of many other relatives and friends.
