Eugene "Gene" Underwood

Was born February 20, 1932 in Marion County, Ala to Oscar Underwood and Susie (Orrick) Underwood. He died Monday; June 13, 2016 at Golden Living Center- New Madrid, MO at the age of 84 years , 3 months and 24 days.

He was united in marriage August 23, 1971 in Portageville to Wilma Tanner . Preceding him in death was his parents Oscar & Susie Underwood, wife Wilma Underwood, Feb. 22, 2013, a sister, Vernell Cochran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville and retired from Noranda Aluminum.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son; Walter Ace of Rockhill, SC, daughters: Rita Ace Owen of Memphis , TN, Sherry (Wub) Riley of New Madrid, MO, Robin (Phillip) Carlyle of East Prarie, MO, sister: Pauline Estes of Sikeston, MO, 9 Grandchildren: Jason & Nathan Owen, Joseph Faries, Morgan Brasher, Chantelle Fisher, Chelsea Chambers, Brianne Allen, Tanner & Tara Ace, Leslie Estes of Portageville, MO & Eddie & Bev Cochran of Arkansas Numerous Great Grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.
