Mrs. Elaine Ruth Kimes was born on July 17, 1935 in Portageville, MO. to the late Myrtle Mae (Crites) Henson & Benjamin Henson. She passed away on Saturday May 10, 2025, at Delta South Nursing, at the age of 89 years 9 months and 23 days.

On June 23, 1952, in Pocahontas AR, Elaine married Sherman Day Kimes, he preceded her in death on December 14, 2016. She was a Member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville, Mo and Was employed for 59 ½ years at the Painter Medical Office, in Portageville, Missouri.

Preceding her in death was her parents, Myrtle Mae (Crites) Henson and Benjamin Henson, also preceding was her siblings, Alfred Henson, John Henson, Lulla Henson, Lula Henson, William Henson Dorothy Young, Willard Henson, Gene Henson, Ida Cross, Alta Brown, Jerome Henson & Donald Henson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ronald A. (Renee) Kimes of Portageville, MO, Steven D. (Debbie) Kimes of Columbia, MO, her brother Franklin (Peggy) Henson of Jacksonville, AR. Grandchildren: Amy (Tim) Sullenger of Hermitage, TN, Kristen (Ben) Kellams of Portageville, MO,  Ron Allen (Heather) Kimes of Portageville, MO & Bradley (Jessica)  Kimes of Sugarland, TX  & Austin Kimes of Columbia, MO, great grandchildren: Allison, Anna Beth & Addie Sullenger, Olivia & Sophie Kellams, Jaxon Kimes  and Maknna Kimes and a host of many other relatives and friends.
