He loved to work on his tractors and lawn mowers in his spare time and taking care of his chickens and ducks, Wayne never met a stranger, he loved being around his family and friends, telling stories and sharing memories of time pass.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Wilma Beatrice Hess Mims and David Roy Mims, also preceding him in death was 9 siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ivy Renee Mims of Catron, Missouri, one son, Travis and (Danielle) Mims of Portageville, Missouri, daughters, Sheryl Boyd and (Raymond Desrochess) of New Madrid, Missouri, Stephanie Yagle and (Jason Yagle) of New Madrid, Missouri, Stacey Mims and (David Martin) of Caruthersville, Missouri, brothers, David Mims Jr and Edward Mims, sisters, Lily Errin, (Claude Ervin) , Elaine Brooks, Reba McDonald, 23 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren
