Dustin Guy Grooms

Was born on September 14, 1943 in Caruthersville, Mo to the late Weldon Odell Grooms and Maggie Madeline Sherrill Grooms.  He passed away on Monday January 30, 2023 in Kennett, Mo

At the age of 79 years, four months and sixteen days. Dusty asked Jesus to come into his  heart in July 1960 in Caruthersville, Mo. Dusty married Carolyn Alyene Spears on August 1, 1965 in Gideon, Missouri and to this union were born three children; Guy Grooms, Hope Grooms and Cory Grooms.

P receding him in death were his son Guy Grooms, His father and mother Odell and Madeline Sherrill Grooms and brother Chuck Grooms, one sister Vivian  Tarpley.

Dusty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville, MO serving as a deacon, and one of the leaders of the GENESIS youth group and took them on many outings. He was one of the leaders of the keenagers groups. He was on various other committees and was a faithful in attendance as long as his health permitted.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carolyn Grooms of the home. His daughters; Hope Grooms (Kevin Blansett) Bynum of Portageville, Missouri, and Cory Grooms of Portageville, Missouri (Cory is mother to two girls Marina and Gracie,  and two boys Noah and Harley)  . Two granddaughters; Amanda Brooks Bynum (Chris Long) Of Holts Summit, MO and Adrienne Louise Duncan (Julian Nolan) of Portageville, Mo. Two great granddaughters' Olivia Alyene Bynum and Oak Lynn Kaye Bynum of Holts Summit, MO. One great grandson; Owen Alexander Long of Holts Sumit, MO. One great Granddaughter Adley Hope Nolen of Portageville, MO. Two sisters; Jackie (tony) Powell of Caruthersville, Mo. Judy Counts of Hot Springs Arkansas. One brother; Darryl ( Helen) Grooms of West Plains MO. Eight Nieces five Nephews and a host of many others relatives and friends.
