Dewey Shelton Samples

W as born on May 27, 1946 in Portageville, Mo to the late Dewey Samples and Mary Etta Moss.  He passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 in Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau, Mo at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 21 days.

H e was united in Marriage to the love of his life, Sandra Lynn Quick, on February 15, 1964 in Portageville, MO.  He was retired from Noranda Aluminum and loved to be outside with family and friends, he also loved camping and fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.  But his greatest joy in life was being a grandpa to his grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

H e was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Dewey Samples, two brothers, Leman Samples, Wilburn Samples and two sisters, Maneen Carter, Christine Redden.

H e leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sandra Samples of Portageville, Mo, one son, Derek (Mary) Samples of Jackson, MO, daughter, April (Mike) Priggel of Portageville, MO, his sister, Wilma Fletcher of Niles, Michigan. Five grandchildren: Cody (Delia) Samples, Cooper Samples, Caroline Samples, Matt (Cristina) Priggel, Alyssa (DJ) Birdwell. 3 great-grandchildren, Weston Birdwell, Emmy Birdwell, Ava Birdwell and a host of many other relatives and friends.
