David E. Butler Was born December 10, 1942 in Portageville, MO to Francis Downing and Harold L. Butler. He died Saturday January 26, 2008 at Gideon Care Center at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 10 days. He was united in marriage in Portageville, MO on August 16, 1970 to Mary Hollis who survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Downing Butler and 1 brother, Harold Butler, Jr. He served in the US Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Lilbourn VFW and the First Assembly of God Church in Portageville. He was employed by the Noranda Co. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Butler of the home; his father: Harold L. Butler, Sr. of Portageville; 1 son: David L. Butler of Everett, Washington; 1 daughter: Cheryl Jenkins of Chaffee, MO; 1 brother: Bob Butler of Morley, MO; 2 sisters: Lisa O'Neal of Huston, TX & Judy Glasscock of Saratoga, FL; 2 grandchildren: David Landon Butler & Ross Jenkins and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday January 29, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Eugene Poole officiating. Pallbearers were: David Lynn Butler, Rob Jenkins, Jerry Clark, Gary McWaters, Charlie Hollis & Earl Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers: Troy Hollis, Bobby Butler, Randy Williams, Roy Cross, John Penrod, Mike O'Neal, Ford Slough, Harold Butler, Darren Allen, Quentin White, Mike Jones, Todd Spence, Rondall Slayton, Lindsey LeGrand & Ralph Pruitt. Interment followed in Portageville Cemetery with full military honors. DeLisle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
