Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Akins

Was born on January 13, 1958 in Barstow, California to the late J.R. And Leona (Hunt) Chambliss. She went home, to be with the Lord, on March 12, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 67 years and 1 month.

Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, Jennifer Chambliss, two brothers Scott Chambliss and Jay Chambliss, six sisters; Dixie Akins, Iris Hayes, Judy Keck, Teresa Flegal, Nancy Walker, and Deonna Tanner.

Cindy was a graduate of Sikeston Beauty Academy and worked in her own business and later for New Madrid Coiffures. Later in life she enjoyed working at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in New Madrid. She loved all the students who attended, and spoke of them often. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, and drinking coffee all day long!

She was united in marriage, to the love of her life, Ronnie Akins on December 21, 2002. Together they shared many adventures and built a life she loved!

She leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, Ronnie Akins of New Madrid, MO. Two daughters, Tonya (Mikel) Wilson of Portageville MO, Jessica (Kris) Jones of New Madrid MO. Three grandchildren, Lawton (Jacie) Wilson of Jackson MO, Corlie Wilson of Portageville MO, Ayden Cash Jones of New Madrid MO and a furry grandchild Evie Jo Wilson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
