Charlotta Ruth Houser
Was born on August 25, 1929 in Union Hill, Arkansas to Burnice Pollard and Meda Caldwell Pollard. She passed away on February 9, 2018 at Barnes Hospital in St Louis, Mo at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 18 days.
Graduate of University of Central Arkansas in Conway Arkansas in 1951. She was an educator and spent her life as a Home Economics Teacher. She taught twenty years at Portageville High School and 10 years in Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Portageville. She loved cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband after retirement.
Proceeding her in death were her parents: Meda Caldwell Pollard and Burnice Pollard. She was united in marriage to William James "Bill" Houser on March 28, 1951 in Conway, Arkansas. He proceeded her in death on April 15, 1997.
She leaves to mourn her passing: two daughters and two son-in-laws, Pamela Ruth (John F.) Blackiston of Malden, Mo and Kimberly Ann (Mark) Peel of Sikeston, Mo. One sister, Joy Alford of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Her niece Monica (Randy) Avery of Rogers, Arkansas and nephew Dr. Gregg Alford (Donna) of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Three grandchildren: Rebecca Peel of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Sarah Peel, of Sikeston, Mo and Steven Blackiston of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She also had a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Portageville or the Portageville Public Library.
