Charlie A. Holmes was born March 6, 1944, in Clarksdale Mississippi to the late Jessie & Lucilla Holmes.

Charles accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord. Charlie was united in holy matrimony to Lovie Holmes on September 12, 1975, in New Madrid MO. He was a dedicated father, husband, grandfather, friend and uncle. Charlie departed life February 18, 2025, at 8:00 pm in his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 80 years old.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories  his wife Lovie Holmes of 49 years of Portageville, MO, three sons: Michael (Jan) Holmes of Portageville MO, David (Elleya) Collins of Texas and Charles Cardwell of Kansas City MO, two daughters, Marilyn Williams of Caruthersville MO,  Alma (Bryan) Richardson of Portageville, MO, 17  grandkids, 37 great grand kids & 3 great great grand kids, two brothers: Willie (Rose) Holmes of Clarksdale & James Lee Holmes of Bobo MS and three sisters: Irene Holmes of Bobo MS, Ruby (Tony) Heags of Alligator MS & Lula Mar Parchell of Portageville MO and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a special daughter in law / daughter Jan Holmes.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers Jessie Homes, Ed lee Holmes, R.H Holmes, Leroy Holmes and Albert Jr Holmes of MS.

Charlie Legacy of love will continue through his family. He loved farming, landscaping, cleaning ducks and  gardening . His favorite flower was blue and white carnations.
