Charles Thomas Tatum Jr., 82, of Point Pleasant, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Born on June 18, 1944, in Point Pleasant to Vera Winkle Stafford and Charles Thomas Tatum Sr., Charles spent his life deeply connected to his hometown, family, and the simple joys he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Earl Tatum and Aubra Tatum; and sister Mary Rhodes. Charles was united in marriage to Kay Quick on November 15, 1974, in Point Pleasant, Missouri. For nearly 52 years, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless fishing trips. Fishing was more than a hobby for Charles—it was a passion. Whether catching, cooking, or telling stories about the “one that got away,” he found joy in every moment by the water.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Tatum of Point Pleasant, MO; son Robert Lee (Ashley) Cayton Jr. of Portageville, MO; daughter Candace (Matthew) Denny of Anna, IL; sisters Donna Cayton of Point Pleasant, MO, and Shirley Versemann of Festus, MO; eight grandchildren; Ashton Cayton, Kailee Cayton, Addi Lee Cayton, Josie Cayton, Finley Cayton, Balyie Garver, Hunter Denny, Brodie Denny and three Great grands Tanner Sullivan, Mady and Waylon Cayton.
