Charles D. "Chuck" Pate

Charles D. "Chuck" Pate was born July 14, 1944 in Braggadocia, Missouri to Mamie Louise Tatum and William Bryant Pate. He died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in Portageville, MO at the age of 72 years, 2 months, 7 days.

On June 1, 1986 in Caruthersville, Missouri he married Phyllis Combs Mitchem. He retired from Atmos Energy after 32 years of service. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Portageville. He loved woodworking and never met a stranger.

Preceding him in death were: his parents, Mamie and Bryant Pate; his brothers, James Thomas Pate and Winiferd Doyle Pate; and his sisters, Margaret Janice Doan, Mary Alice Wilson, Mildred Laverne Bennett and Peggy Ruth Boone.

He leaves to cherish: his wife, Phyllis Pate of Portageville, Missouri; sons, Mark (Brenda) Pate of Caruthersville, Missouri, Timothy  Pate of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Scott (Vanessa) Pate of Braggadocia, Missouri; daughters, Kristy (Chris) Riggs of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Angela (Perry) Patterson of Christiansburg, Virginia;  step daughters, Lori (Kenny) Glastetter of Chaffee, Missouri, and Robin (Kyle) Rogers of Maumelle, Arkansas; brother, Joe Pate of Perris, California; sisters, Patsy Kittrell of Chipley, Florida, and Nancy  Cagle of Caruthersville, Missouri; and several grandchildren and g reat-grandchildren.
