Carolyn Alyene Spears was born on October 18, 1942 in Piggott AR to Robert L. and Inez
McMillen Spears. She grew up in Wardell MO.
Carolyn asked Jesus into her heart in November of 1954 in Wardell, MO. She married Dustin
Guy Grooms Sr. August 1. 1965 in Gideon, MO. In this marriage were born 3 children: Guy
Grooms Jr., Hope Grooms. and Cory Grooms.
Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville, MO. She was an active
member of the JOY Sunday school class, a leader of the GENESIS youth group, and a leader of
the Keenagers where she went on many outings. She served on various other committees and
was faithful in attendance as long as her health permitted.
Carolyn was a school teacher from the 1970's-2010 in various places as well as being a
substitute teacher over those years. As she had her children, she opened a daycare and took a
break from teaching. Over the span of her daycare being open, she touched many lives and
cared for children of all ages. After she retired from teaching in 2010, she had her own
grandchildren and great grandchildren to keep up with.
She leaves to cherish her memories of life to her 2 daughters; Hope Grooms Bynum of
Portageville. MO and Cory Grooms of Rolla, MO. 4 granddaughters; Amanda Brooke
Bynum(Christoper Long), Adrienne Louise Duncan(Jullian Nolen) of Portageville, MO and
Mariana and Gracie Rodriguez of Rolla, Mo. 2 grandsons; Noah and Harley Mohr of Rolla, MO.
3 great granddaughters; Olivia Alyene Bynum, Oak'lynn Kaye Bynum, and Adley Hope Nolen of
Portageville, MO. 1 great grandson Owen Alexander Long of Portageville, MO.
Nieces: Janet(Eddy) Weaver of Hardy, AR. Kathy(Roy) Huckabee of Gideon, MO,
Adrienne(Ashley) Calvert of Risco. MO.
Nephew Gerry (Val) Spears of Rowlett, TX. As well as a host of many cousins, relatives, and
friends.
Proceeding her in death are: her husband Dusty Guy Grooms Sr .. son Guy Grooms Jr., father
and mother Robert L. and Inez McMullin Spears. 4 brothers; Alton Spears, Jimmy Spears,
Buddy Spears, and Glen MSon" Spears; 1 sister Mavis Young: 3 nieces Deborah Young, Sandra
Lee, and Terry Lawrence; 1 nephew: Jimmy Spears Jr.

Bullington.
