Carl Vance Shankle

"Moon"

W as born on August 11, 1934, in Kennett, MO to the late John D. Shankle and Gladys Wright.  He passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2023, at Mercy South Hospital in St Louis, MO at the age of 88 years,

P receding him in death was his parents John D. & Gladys Shankle, his three brothers: Paul, Johnny & Kenneth Shankle.

H e was united in marriage on April 11, 1964 in Portageville, MO  to Delores Roe, she survives of the home. Moon enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, watching football, tinkering in the garage and fixing stuff around the house. In his earlier years he and Ms. Delores loved following their son to catch his music adventures, he loved being with family and friends.  He was a member of the Church of God in Portageville and retired after 28 years with the Corp of Engineers, he also served proudly in the United States Air Force.

H e leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 59 years; Delores Shankle of Portageville, MO, one son; Carl Shankle Jr. of Nashville, TN, his daughter; Carmen (Kevin) Lyons of Lilbourn, MO, his grandchildren; Eric Holloway, Derik Holloway, Evan Shankle, Jack Shankle and Beau Shankle and his two great grandchildren; Jayden & Trevor Holloway and a host of many other relatives and friends.
