Brenda Lorraine (Doza) Patterson was born on September 12, 1941, in Jefferson County, MO to Harry Joseph Doza and Genevieve (Barbey) Doza, she died Thursday, March 23, 2023, in Sikeston MO at the age of 81 years and 6 months.

She was united iin marriage to Edward Elwood Patterson on April 1, 1961, in Caruthersville, MO. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2012. Together, they raised four children at their home in Portageville, MO. She was a talented seamstress, artist and loved her family.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her many grandchildren or to the beach. For several years, she worked in management at Montgomery Ward in Portageville, MO. Her family was always intrigued that Brenda modeled for a Coca-Cola dispensary advertisement. She was the WMU Director and VBS director with the New Madrid Baptist Association for a number of years. A talented vocalist, Brenda led worship at Trinity Baptist Church in Portageville for a time and was invoked in many musical endeavors including performances at weddings and funerals in the area. She also sang at the weddings of some of her children and grandchildren. A favorite memory of many is her singing her to do list throughout the day, often including "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus."

She is survived by her four children: Trent Edward (Yvonne) Patterson of Conran, MO; Donna Ranae (Kris) Underwood of Nesbit, MS; Darryl Lee Patterson of Portageville, MO; and Lisa Marie (Britt) McClendon of Sikeston, MO.

Brenda was a beloved grandmother to  Bradley (Amber) Patterson (deceased) of Warrensburg, MO; Wesley Patterson of Knob Noster, MO, Kristen (David) Cox of Spartanburg, SC, Daniel (Jennifer) Patterson of Knob Noster, MO; Amy (Vonn) Francisco of Murfreesboro, TN; Phillip "Clay" Underwood of Oxford, MS; Tiffany Patterson of Las Vegas, NV; Dustin (Amber) Patterson (Deceased), Marston, MO; Kelli (Cody) Wright of Hernando, MS; Blake Posey of Poplar Bluff, MO; Brooke Posey of Jonesboro, AR; Kara Underwood of Horn Lake, MS; and lovingly helped in raising granddaughter Emma Leigh Grace Patterson of Portageville, MO.

She had 26 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harry J and Genevieve Doza; half-brother, Ronnie Doza (deceased) of Kaskaskia, Il; her husband Edward Patterson, and grandsons; Bradley Patterson and Dustin Patterson.

Brenda is also survived by her brother Kenneth J. Doza of Cape Girardeau, MO and her sister Janet M. (Bryan) Albright of Fulton, MO.

Brenda was cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
