(April 23, 1934 - November 23, 2025)
Boneese (Bonnie) Bracey, age 91 of Portageville, MO went to her heavenly home on November 23, 2025, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
Born in McNairy County, TN, to C.J. and Lillie Russom James, Bonnie was married to Hilton L. Bracey for 56 years. She dedicated much of her life to her family and home, later managing the Portageville Housing Authority. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and fishing, and was a lifelong member of the Portageville Methodist Church and the Portageville Garden Club.
Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Michael W. (Kimberly) Bracey and James H. (Mary Catherine) Bracey, her stepdaughter Leslie A. (Michael) Mink, one brother, Bill (JoAnn) James, eight grandchildren, Thomas (Amy) Bracey, Lauren (Joseph) Schick, Jacob (Jillian) Bracey, Eugene Bracey, Roseanne Bracey, Wayne (Jennifer) Mink, Stacy Barnes, and Kelly (Mat) Benton plus eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings, Pete James, Joe James, O.J. James, J.C. (Sonny) James, A.C. James, Jackie James, Cletus (Frog) James, Novell Milani, Blondell Battaglia, Maydell Thompson, and Dottie Parks.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 29, at the Portageville Methodist Church at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Hartlen Coats. Burial will follow at the Portageville Cemetery, with pallbearers being Thomas Bracey, Jacob Bracey, Wayne Mink, Joseph Schick, A.C. James Jr., and Billy James. We appreciate your support during this time as we remember Bonnie's loving spirit.
