Birl Johnson

Was born January 06, 1923 in Clarksdale, MS, to George Johnson and Lizzy Ross. he died Monday evening peacfully at the Portageville Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 93 years, 1 month & 15 days.

He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Portageville, MO. He was a hard worke,  he also  loved the people he worked for and with  at Delta Salvage in Portageville for 30 years, then working at the Federal Compress & Warehouse.

He was united in marriage to Martha Johnson who preceded him in death also preceding him in death were his parents, George Johnson and Lizzy Ross. 3 brothers; Eddie Wilson, Percy Johnson and Chester Johnson. 1 sister, Marie Holmes.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a special neice & nephew, Martha Walton and Fiance,Alfred West,  Ira Walton and wife, Gracie Walton, two God daughters, San Jones and Annie Mae Weakly  and a host of many other neices and nephews , relatives and friends.
