Billy Gene Marion, 91, of Lilbourn, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Lilbourn. Born on March 28, 1935, in Conran, Missouri, to Nellie Hufffman Ferterdise and Wilton D. Marion, Billy lived a long and full life devoted to family, hard work, and community.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Joyce Hunt and Barbara Ward; brothers Charles Marion, Wayne Marion, and Gary Brown; sister Helen Barnett; and his wife Earnestine Butler, whom he married in 1979 and who passed in 2002. He was also previously married to Rita Gammons.
A proud and knowledgeable member of the agricultural community, Billy loved working at Adams Farm and Seed Company, where he enjoyed sharing his farming experience and stories with friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his daughters Sherry Smith of Portageville, MO; Sharon Marion of Portageville, MO; Tina Lawrence of Gideon, MO; Gena Marion of Portageville, MO; stepdaughters Pam Axtell of Lilbourn, MO, and Lucinda Davis of Malden, MO; sons Russell Marion of Haubstadt, IN; Jeff Marion of Boonville, MO; and Kelly Marion of Gideon, MO. Billy’s legacy also lives on through his 32 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Missouri, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.

Billy will be remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to farming, and the love he poured into his family and community.
