Betty Sue Curtis Phillips,
Age 84, was born on March 3, 1941, in Matthews, Missouri, and passed away on August 5, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Melvin B. and Flora E. Curtis.
Betty Sue was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee, and previously attended First Baptist Church in Wardell, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cherishing every moment she could share with them.
She is survived by her two children, Johnny (Brenda) Gotcher of Athens, Alabama, and Donna Bailey of Brookland, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jenica (Christian) Villa of Priceville, Alabama, Joshua Bailey of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Breanna Bailey of Farmington, Missouri; two great‑grandchildren, Zella Rayne and Ezekiel Zane of Priceville, Alabama; her brother Joe (Ruth) Curtis of Millington, Tennessee; and her sister Judy May of Lakeland, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathon Gotcher; her husband, Harvell Phillips; three brothers, Clyde Curtis, Eugene Curtis, and Noel Curtis; and one sister, Lavern Alderson.
Betty Sue was known for her selfless spirit, and her love outshone everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including many nieces and nephews.
