— Betty Ann Ellington, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Portageville.

Born Nov. 18, 1936, in Matthews, Missouri, daughter of the late Mary Welch Hopper and J.W. Hopper, she was of the Catholic faith.

On April 1, 1971, in Portageville, she married John Girvin Ellington; he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1978.

She was also preceded her in death was two sisters, Patricia Bixler and Rose Mary Millar; and her parents, Mary and J.W. Hopper.

She loved being with natural and taking care of her flowers. And spending time with family.

Survivors include: three sons, Jon Pat Ellington of Portageville, John Girvin Ellington Jr. of Tampa, Florida and David Ellington of New Madrid, Missouri; two daughters, Hope Ann Ashby and her husband Louis and Marlynn Ellington of Portageville; one brother, John Hopper of Chesterfield, Illinois.

A private memorial service will be done at a later date with DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville in charge of arrangements.
