Belinda Marie Booker was born April5, 1962 in Caruthersville Mo to C.J Booker & Ocie Lee Durden Booker. to this union two children were born. She departed this life early Sunday morning November 3, 2024 at her home in Marston, MO.
Belinda confessed faith in Christ at the age of eight years old. She was baptized and joined New Salem MB Church under the leadership of the late Rev. D.T Frazier until her passing she served faithfully as church secretary, choir member and was an active participant in many other church activities.
She graduated from Portageville High School in 1980 and received an Associate Degree in Mass Communication from Rust Community College in Holly Springs MS.
She became legal guardian to her niece Nizah at the of three in 2000, she married Rusty Hodges. This union consisted of the adoption of their son Delonte and later they became guardianship of their two grandsons, Jeremiah & Cameron.
Belinda was employed at DAEOC Head Start for several years. She served as a volunteer for Marston Kids Beat & Youth Director of Friendship District Association. She enjoyed working with young people reading and being in the company of family & Friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents CJ and Ocie Booker. Maternal grandparents, Mae Fannie Durden & Love Durden and stepdaughter Roshonda Hampton.
Belinda leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Rusty Hodges of Marston Mo, two daughters: Erica Long of Marston, MO, Nizah Harris of Portageville MO. One son Delonte Hodges of Marston MO. Two granddaughters: Aalayah Blair , Brooklynn Harris. Three grandson: Brylan Harris, Cameron Hampton & Jeremiah Hampton. One brother: Sherman Booker. Columbia MO. Two stepsisters: Margaret House, Williston, Fl & Linda (Lamar) Jefferson, Mount Prospect, IL. Two stepbrothers, Earl (Ruby) Gray , Charles (Elizabeth) Gray, Elkhart, IN, two aunts; Lovie Sanders Milwaukee WS & Marilyn Durden Chicago IL two uncles Roosevelt (Doris) Durden, Huntsville, AL, bonus daughters Leeann Richardson (Children) and Dianna Mays (Children). Bonus auntie; Glendell Hamilton Marston MO. A complete family of nieces, nephews cousins, friends , & the New Salem Church Family.
