Barbara Jean Lindsey, age 73, of Portageville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Twin Oaks in Wentzville, Missouri.

She was born on January 26, 1953, in Cairo, Illinois, to the late Charles Edward Wehrenberg and Ruby Littell Wehrenberg.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jerry Lindsey, who passed away in 2021; her sister, Peggy Malina; and her brother, Richard Wehrenberg.

Barbara enjoyed life and treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren. She loved traveling, particularly her trips to Branson, and was devoted to her faith. Barbara faithfully supported her husband in ministry and served as a Baptist minister's wife for more than 20 years. She also enjoyed attending church and participating in Bible study. Barbara was a teacher with the Portageville School District for 27 years, where she touched many children lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Lindsey (Brandon Morgan) of O'Fallon, Missouri; two sisters, Charlotte Palmer of Villa Ridge, Illinois, and Mary Moss of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Cameron Morgan, Jocelyn Alicea, and Asher Alicea, all of O'Fallon, Missouri. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews,  and other relatives and friends.

Barbara will be remembered for her faith, loving heart, dedication to her family, and the kindness she shared with all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come.
