Barbara Ann Jacobs was born on January 14, 1944 in Malden MO to the late Genevive Chanley Beaher & Cornelius Beaher. She passed away on Sunday January 5, 2025 at New Madrid Living Center in New Madrid MO, at the age of 80 years old.
Mom and Dad met in high school and after she graduated they got married at the Lilbourn Methodist Church September 11, 1962. They lived a happy life raising their 2 children, a host of many pets through the years dogs, horses, cats , few rabbits and guinea pigs , aquariums, and a baby goat. Mom even allowed Dad to clean his ducks he hunted on newspapers in the kitchen floor ( because it was too cold outside) while she also helped him with. They spent many happy years going camping at Norfork lake, deer hunting together at Marble Hill , Mo, Cutting wood together for fire place, Family fish fry's and BBQs in backyard, fishing, they were married for 41 happy loving years.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Genevive Chanley Beaher and Cornelius Beaher, also preceding, her was her husband, Jimmy Don Jacobs. A set of twin baby brother & sister; Mark Russell Beaher & Mry Rose Beaher, also a daughter – in- law; Debbie Marie Jacobs, mother-in-law Lillian Jacobs & father-in-law Dewey Jacobs.
Full of life Barbara enjoyed many things from cooking, water skiing, gardening, embroidery, crocheting, camping, watching westerns and even deer hunting. She was a talker and loved telling stories. She was a member of United Methodist Church in New Madrid. She was born and raised in New Madrid, Mo, where she lived most of her life working and taking care of her husband and children. During her life she worked at the New Madrid Dry Cleaners, taught at New Madrid and Canalou HeadStart for several years, Essex Frankie Christmas Factory in New Madrid , and worked for Weddle Dental Lab ( helped fabrication of dentures) for 20+ years while also helping her husband in the evenings with maintenance for Semo Health Network Clinics. After retiring she helped care for her youngest grandson Caleb for many years. Growing up Mom always made time for her children to play games, make costumes for Halloween, play in the floor with barbies or trucks and race track , she loved surprises even if it was just sneaking in the kitchen to make unexpected cookies or brownies after supper, she made many a cupcakes and surprise our elementary class, mom always knew how to make us kids feel important and just as lucky ( even though we didn't have alot to spend on update fashion, trips, and material things) she could create a way where we still where none of the less.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter: Rachelle (Clay) Young of New Madrid MO, son: Don "Tony" Jacobs of Jacksonville FL, two brothers; Bill Beaher of LaCross Mexico, David (Denise) Beaher of Lilbourn, MO, her sisters: Jerri Ruth of New Madrid MO, Beth (Fred) Hartman of New Madrid MO, Patty (Mike) Lacey of Tiptonville TN, her grandchildren: Adam Clay Young of Cherry Hill NJ, Caleb Lee Young of Abilene TX and a host of many other relatives friends.
