Barbara A. Buchanan-Hall was born December 31, 1952 to the late Andrew and Elnolia Buchanan in Portageville, MO.
She was the second child of five children. She grew up in Portageville, where she attended the New Madrid Public School District and graduated from Portageville High School in 1971. After high school she attended Southern Baptist Community College which now is known as William Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR. She receive her Associate in Art Degree in Teaching.
After College she moved back home to Portageville. She worked at Plastene Supply Company/SRG for 24 years. She also taught at Portageville Elementary School for 4 years and then she retired.
Barbara was a lifelong member of New Bethel Church where she served in the church in many capacities. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Secretary, the Head Usher, and Choir Secretary. She also sang in the Choir up until her health failed her.
On August 22, 1982, she married Willie Lee Hall. They were married until his untimely death in June 2007. They had been married for 25 years at the time of his death. To this union there was only one child born, Marisa Willete Hall.
On December 5, 2020, Barbara was called to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Elnolia Buchanan and husband Willie Hall.
She will be forever remembered by her loving daughter Marisa Hall and grandson Danarious Jones.
She is survived by two brothers: Bobby J. (Shirley) Buchanan of Temple Hills, MD and Anthony Lee Buchanan of Chicago, IL; two sisters: Andrea (Cleon) Carson of Kansas City, MO and Julia Buchanan of Portageville, MO; one brother-in-law Leonard Hall of Columbia, MO and one sister-in-law Glenda Buchanan of Lilbourn, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
