Barbara Ann Cantrell was born December 21 , 1945 in Batesville, Mississippi to Lotis Ray Cantrell & Elsie Mae Dickey Cantrell.  She passed away on July 31, 2024 in Sikeston, MO at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 7 days.

By the Grace of God she was saved and became a Christian at the age of 12 yrs at the Hayward Methodist Church. As her Mother was a member of the hayward Baptist Church and was baptized there and became an active member of the church.

Her Dad was a sharecropper and so all the family worked on the farm chopping and picking cotton to help support the family.  If they got caught up they would hire out and work for other farmers to make extra money,

Upon graduation from Charles G. Ross High School she went on to further her education at Williams Baptist College at Walnut Ridge, AR. During her high school years she was an active majorette, cheerleader, member of the Beta Club, and member of the FHA.  Upon going to college she became in her life Service band and spread God's word at different Baptist Church they were invited to for the weekend revivals. It was on one of these weekend ventures that she met the man who was later to become the love of her life.  Although

They  they had gone to school together from 7th grade on, rode the same school bus everyday and lived about 4 miles apart neither one had ever shown any intersest in the other until now. God knows the best for our lives and he had brout us together. We had never even dated but that all changed, because the September 11 1965 Barbara Cantrell and Marvin Gream Jr. were united in holy matrimony at the Boekerton Baptist Church.

During her life Barbara worked at the Dime Store and part time at Production Credit where she met lots of farmers and their families.  She was a fulltime homemaker, a wonderful seamstress, loved doing wood crafts and loved working in her flowers.

In 1971 Marvin and Barbara were blessed with the birth of their son, Michael Allen Gream, Michael loved reading books, especially the Hardy Boys.  He also loved Working on the farm with his dad.  After his graduation from Portageville High School Michael joined the Navy.

They lived happily on the farm (Marvin's 2nd love) until Dec. 2007 when Marvin was forced to retire from farming due to his health.

Marvin, Barbara and Michael were active at Boekerton Baptist until 1974 when they felt God leading them to First Baptist Church in Portageville. They both became very active in the ministries of the church.  Barbara in the tape ministries of the church, working with flower committee and working with the Genesis youth group.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents, Lotis Ray Cantrell & Elsie Mae Dickey Cantrell; Her son, Michael Allen Gream, two brothers, Ray Cantrelland Joel Durell (Joe) Cantrell both of Portageville.

She leaves to cherish her memories of her life her long loving husband for 58 years,  Marvin C. Gream Jr. of the home, two sisters, Martha Mae (Bobby) McCrady of South Havan, MS, and Lucinda (Jimmy) Johnson of Portageville, Special friends Jason & Deanna Lamar who were always available any and every time we needed someone; 3 grandchidren; Lyndsey Renae (Sunshine) Gream , Nicholas Clayton(Sunny) Gream, Peyton Joseph Gream, two great-grandchildren,

Levi Chase Gream,Gorham, Everett Clayton Gream and a host of many other relatives and friends.
