Aretha Miller We were blessed with Aretha Miller on May 17, 1952. She took her wings at the age of 63 on September 21, 2015. Ateatha was born to the union of Jonas and Idell Lewis Thornton in Oran, MO. She was one of 12 children born to this union. Areatha Miller professed a hope in Christ at a late age. She was baptized at Mt Calvary Church in Parma, Mo, she later switched her membership to Bread of Life where Pastor Carol Williams of Parma Mo was her Pastor. She was a loyal member up until her death. Her motto was "God Got Me." Her parents Idell and Jonas Thornton, five brothers Bobby Joe, Jonas Jr, Eugene, Lawrence and Albert Thornton; four sisters; Margaree Slaughter, Victoria Blacksure, Marie Smith and Lillie Bell Patton all proceeded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory's; Three sons Joshua Thornton of Cookville, Tn, Eddie Macklin (Tonyela) of Lilbourn, MO and Timmy (Deb) of Poplar Bluff, MO. One sister Louise Davie (Willie) of Tiptonville, Tn. One brother Eddie Charles Thornton (Arlene) of Poplar Bluff MO. Nineteen grandchildren; nine grandsons; Eddie Macklin Jr (Sheria) of Poplar Bluff, Mo, Elijah Thornton of North Carolina, Mark Thompson of Dexter, Mo, Brian Thornton of Chicago, IL Dunken and Davonte Thornton of Cookville, Tn, Antian Haney and Tyrell Thornton of Cookville, Tn. Ten granddaughters; Tequlia Gains and Trazil Gains of Lilbourn, MO, Brandy McClure of Poplar Bluff, Mo Keyona and Kendra Owens of Sikeston, Mo, Linda Thornton of Dexter, Mo Kaneesha and Sharniece Thornton of Cookville, Tn, Bionca Thornton and Aaliyah Haney of Cookville , Tn Trevon Thornton of the home. Fourteen great Grandchildren, Niece, nephew cousins and a host of other relatives , church family and friends. Special friend and loving sister-in-law Magnolie Gainwell.
